We bought this system from another retailer for our two large-sized outdoor dogs. This comes with a 1-year parts and labor warranty, which we read carefully. Beware this claim. The transformer blew on this system and the company wants to claim lightning damage, so won’t warranty it at all (we don’t believe there was any lightning damage, but since we can’t claim we are right, they want to claim they are). If it were under warranty, it would cost $18 to replace the transformer – $2 more than a new transformer. They also want to provide a new wall unit and an additional surge suppressor (rackin’ up the bucks). We know enough not to fall for these claims and purchased parts to repair the unit elsewhere.
While reviewing the information ONLINE at Innotek’s site (this was nowhere in the information we received nor on the retailer’s site), we also learned that the collars are not to be worn for more than 12 hours at a time or risk an adhesion on the dog’s neck. That’s certainly not why we purchase this unit, which we considered top-of-the-line, especially with our dogs in an unfenced area 24,7.
This was not what we expected, and the customer service after the fact, plus the actuality of their 1-year parts and labor warranty, leaves us extremely dissatisfied with the unit. We now use it ony to allow our dogs to run for awhile we are outside, which was not the intent of the purchase.

The Gulf Coast pet supply is the best company I have ever dealt with and they are highly recommended by me. I got these collars and neither one of them worked. I called the technical support and they said I could send them back for more of the same which I did not want. I called Gulf Coast pet supply where I got them from and they promptly refunded my entire amount..also promptly shipped me another set of dogtra collars that they helped me select and they work perfectly. They were so nice it wasn’t even funny.BUY
FROM GULF COAST PET SUPPLY for the best service you will ever get! Do not buy this product because they are junk. Upgrade to the dogtra collars and you will not be disappointed.

Product never arrived thanks to poor service by Muttmart.
Unbelievebly they made false promises yet never delivered when they said they would.
As well, they don’t EVER return any phone calls that you leave on their customer service phone line.
Hard to review a product that never arrives.
DON’T BUY FROM MUTTMART, they’ll take your money but you may, or may not recieve your product, they really don’t care.

After you buy this product, you’ll wish you had bought it much earlier. We’ve been using this product since the Fall ’08, and this is our second set (nothing wrong with the product – the dogs got ahold of the collars and chewed them up). We have two large dogs. The male (Great Dane mix) is friendly but fearful and stubborn. The female (Rottie mix) is very smart, but can be aggressive at times and also stubborn. We needed the collars to walk them off-leash on trails and parks, as they would take off and not come back when we called them. The Rottie would also charge/growl at other people and dogs on the trail.
We only had to use the “static” button on the Rottie one time on the first day, and after that she would listen to us with only the “tone” warning. To this day we only use the “static” when she acts aggressively, or decides to ignore us after a couple of “tone” warnings. The Great Dane listens to only the “tone” warning most of the time, we rarely have to use the “static” on him.
We tried the “static” on our hands before we did it on the dogs (only fair, right?). The “shock” is the same as what you get from cars or doorknobs sometimes. It’s uncomfortable, but it doesn’t hurt. Each dog has their limit though, so you should start on level 1 and go up just until you notice that the dog felt it. Our Rottie responds to level 2 or 3, but the Great Dane needs levels 5 or 6.
Also, I suggest that you number your dogs, and not the collars. For us, Rottie is always ’1′ and Great Dane is always ’2′. Every time you activate the collar, you have to pay attention to the number on the remote (‘dog1′ or ‘dog2′). The collars are interchangeable and don’t keep the same number after you turn them off.
They are very active dogs, so it was important to us that the collars are waterproof, form-fitting and rechargeable. We also own a pair of cheap “bark collars” that we rarely use because they are bulky, don’t stay in place, are not rechargeable and will go off when the dogs scratch or wrestle.
This product literally changed our lives. Now we can take our dogs to places where we couldn’t before, and we know we will be able to control them. They are happier dogs for it too, as they can run and play outside off the leash.
The only down side – and it’s a little one – is that the remote is not rechargeable and the battery is a little uncommon. You can buy it at the big hardware stores though, and it lasts for a while. But other than that, it’s an excellent product.

i have searched and searched and searched many different brands/models before i decided to buy this one. at $260, this is about mid-high price range for electric collars. but the features and quality you get beats any others under this price range.
for starters, many cheaper collars use proprietary batteries costing anywhere from $5~$12 each. I have two dogs, so i figure that will cost me around $24 if i replace both collar’s batteries every month, which means $288 per year. this innotek has built-in rechargeable batteries, cool !
another nice feature is the compact remote control. but it has quite a long range, so i can easily slip that into my pocket, cool !
and finally, the collars themselves are extremely durable. the straps are made of ultra durable rubber which my dogs were not able to chew thru. yet it is flexible enough and wraps around my dog’s necks nicely. notice how the receiver themselves are curved for a better fit? most cheaper collars are just a strap + box of electricity. the innotek looks much nicer, wraps around nicer, fits nicer, lasts longers.
level 1 was enough for my fogs (i tried it on my arm and it feels like ant bites, very small tingling but i could definitely feel that).
great buy for 2-dog owners looking for high-quality training system.
